Q: How do I choose a refinishing/restoration shop?

A: There are many factors that you should consider. Reputation, training, number of years in business, quality of work and price are just a few of the factors. My advice to potential clients is to be informed, selective and careful in whom you entrust your family heirlooms.For instance; there's not a week goes by that I do not have a potential client inform me that some other refinisher can have their furniture finished in 7-10 days and at a much lower price than our estimate. WARNING!! This should be your first red flag. You have to ask yourself...How and why this person can do this work so fast and for so little? It is my opinion when someone promises unrealistic low prices and fast turnaround times...that corners are being cut and quality comprimised. As my grandmother used to say....You get what you pay for

In relation to turnaround time most professional shops are booked weeks or months in advance. This is a strong indication to potential clients that this is an in demand professional shop that delivers a quality service.At Timeless Finishes we enjoy and take pride in our work. Q: Will my furniture be devalued by refinishing?

A: Articles that are extremely old or are historically important should be evaluated before refinishing. These pieces may need restoration as opposed to refinishing. The great majority of pieces will actually increase in value and appeal and will have their usefulness and life prolonged with a professional refinishing and proper care by the owner. M.R.

Q: Is refinishing expensive?

A: Refinishing is a labor intensive service. A quality refinishing/restoration job, while not cheap, will probably be a quarter to half the cost of purchasing a new piece of similar quality.K.R

Q: Do you dip strip the furniture?

A: No, we do not use a dipping system.We hand strip using a flow-over system for the majority of our stripping.This method will not loosen joints or veneers that are in sound condition.Dip tanks can harm furniture and lossen joints and veneers.

Q: Do you pick up or deliver?

A: Yes, we offer pick-up and delivery service. We do not, however, pick up and deliver pianos. Call us to make arrangements. Fees apply.

Q: How long does it take to refinish a piece?

A:Our shop maintains an advanced schedule and in most instances we can finish your job in as little as six to eight weeks. However, the answer to this question depends upon several variables such as customer volume, the amount of labor and repairs involved in your job... i.e Do we have to order parts? Do we have to replicate new parts? etc....At Timeless Finishes we do not use the cookie cutter methods that many refinishing shops and factories use. The cornerstone of our business is rewarding our clients with unique one of a kind finishes. We will not rush jobs at the expense of quality.
